Muizenberg hosts some of Cape Town’s coolest restaurants and eateries.

Check out the beachfront’s breakfast cafes and coffee stops – like Knead, Gaslight Café or Empire Café (across the railway line) or grab the city’s best pizza or pasta at Primi or straight-out-the-sea delights from Lucky Fish. Muizenberg also boasts one of the best Indian restaurants on the peninsula, Bombay Chilli.

A soft serve or the Cape’s famous traditional snack, a Gatsby, is a must from The Majestic Café, one of Muizenberg’s oldest and much-loved institutions.

At sunset, head for the cocktail bars like the newly opened Tiger's Milk, an offshoot of Polana, which has moved up from Kalk Bay or venture two roads back from the beach to Palmer Road in the Muizenberg Village for charming restaurants, cafes, a tiny bakery and the local pub, where live music picks up the beat on weekends.

Every Friday, check out the local community’s food market, where artisanal foods, craft beers and community wares are on sale.
